The tools/resources I used for this quilt top are as follows:
Book: Paper Piecing with Alex Anderson
Pattern: Square-in-a-Square Quilt page 14
Fabrics: Novelty & County Classic Solids Fabrics from Joanns
Thread: Masterpiece on the top.....Bottom Line in the bobbin
Foundation paper: Carol Doak's Foundation Paper 8 1/2 x 11
Stitch length: 1.4
My first impressions on paper piecing....
- Pros: One of the great things about paper piecing is that all of my blocks are sized perfectly. This method also gives one practice on stitching in a straight line on a straight line.
- Cons: This is a step by step process....so for creatives like me (who hates following directions) it can feel boring due its repetitive nature.
What's next for this quilt top....some applique of course....what's a "WHO Quilt" without the "WHO"?
